She's still working on going up and down staircases, but that will come with time. She really LOVES the company of other dogs and would fit in easily in a multi-dog household - enjoy the update pics!
Sassy is a 7-8 month old JRT/chihuahua mix waiting for her big break in life. She was born with a deformed right front paw which she is unable to use, and her owners were going to have her euthanized merely because of her leg. A kind woman bought Sassy for $25 to save her from this slated death and reached out to us for help.
Sassy is currently staying at our veterinary hospital where her leg will have to be amputated. It currently drags on the ground and she is unable to use it at all. Without it, she won't be weighed down and will be able to run and freely like other puppies.
Sassy weighs only 9 pounds and is extremely sweet. She loves to be held and give tiny puppy kisses. She is a little shy, but you can tell she warms up quickly from the little wags of her tail. She gets along great with both other dogs and cats.
Sassy's vet bills are projected to be over $1200 and we are asking for your help in funding this necessary surgery for sweet Sassy. As an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Pet Rescue of Mercer relies heavily on your donations to continue saving lives. We desperately need your support for Sassy. Contributions can be made online through our website www.petrescueofmercer.org or mailed directly to us at Pet Rescue of Mercer, P.O. Box 2574, Hamilton, NJ 08690
